I wouldn't harm a fly.
by Duncan MacKellar
My legs are hairy, what about it!
There's no need to scream and shout it,
They make out I'm a monster, but why?
I might be leggy, well so what?
When it comes to legs, I've got a lot,
Trust me!
I wouldn't harm a fly.
They say I'm nasty, that's untrue!
It's just their point of view,
I'm sweet and just as nice as apple pie.
I'm good and well behaved,
I don't look bad when I've just shaved,
Trust me!
I wouldn't harm a fly.
It's said I'm scary, not at all!
It's just the creepy way I crawl,
There's no need to get all weepy or to cry.
I've actually quite divine,
Would I try to spin you a line?
Trust me!
I wouldn't harm a fly.
I weave a web, well that's right,
It's just my way of being polite.
I'm pleased to meet the occasional passer-by.
They so much enjoy their stay,
They just can't tear themselves away!
Trust me!
I wouldn't harm a fly.
By the way, it's time to eat,
I bet you think I'm having meat,
A tasty morsel perhaps, that caught my eye.
I'm more refined than most
I'm having scrambled eggs on toast!
Trust me!
I wouldn't harm a fly.
