I could do that!
by Duncan MacKellar

I could be a soldier, a painter, a poet,
A saint, a rogue or a king.
A waiter or a miner,
The captain of a liner,
I could be almost anything.

I could be a big wheel in the city,
I could build an empire then expand.
I'd have all that I desire,
Make a fortune then retire,
To a sunny island made of sand.

I could be a model or a movie star,
A detective who could solve any crime.
I could spot the clue,
But with so much work to do . .
I just can't spare the time!

I could be a wrestler, a lawyer, a chef,
A composer or a classical musician.
A jockey or a vet,
The pilot of a jet,
I could be a well-known politician.

I could be a sailor, a baker a judge,
A magician or a multi-millionaire.
A well-known face,
An astronaut in space,
I'd boldly go where no one else would dare.

These are just a few of the things I could do
And they wouldn't have to pay me a dime.
But as a busy mammal,
A hard-working camel . .
I just can't spare the time!
